had a day off today 5nov fished a peg i had 2 bream from 3 years ago .i had a bite a chuck all day 10lbs+of dace with a few roach, the best days fishing i have had on this section of the rother for 20 years, guess where NORTH MILL.might go again next week.
Many thanks for the “Heads Up” Bob.
I had an afternoon on the river at the back of the Pond today (Fri 7th) and found it exactly as you said – - – fish a chuck. Best days trotting a stick float that I’ve had in years. Didn’t expect landing net Dace from that venue, nor Roach that were too big to swing. I weighed 7lb 5oz,and the bites never dried up.Amongst the Dace and Roach I had a couple of small Chub, and of course a fair few minnows. Got smashed by a stray Carp when I stuck a feeder over the far side for a quiet(?) lunch break!
Had a couple of excellent hours at Woolbedding this afternoon(.Thurs 20th).
Fished two swims at the top end of the stretch and had Chub and Grayling from both areas.Best Chub was weighed at 4lb 2oz,and the smallest of five was 1lb 4oz. Grayling were all between 12oz and 6oz,with a total weight of 10lb 14oz. Not quite the 20lb that I hoped I had when Chris Boxall phoned earlier – - – I had’nt done my sums then
Looks as if the Stedham fish have moved down to less pressured waters
